Cotton Exchange: Bike Store & Common Areas

The Cotton Exchange in Liverpool is steeped in the history of the cities cotton trade. The Grade II building offers a variety of office accommodation over 7 Floors.

Amspec were appointed by Bruntwood to undertake the design and build of a new shower and bike store within the basement area.

The brief was to create;

  • A central facility within the building
  • To provide secure bike storage
  • Changing facilities
  • WC’s and showers

The design needed to be sensitively executed within the confines of the existing buildings fabric. Whilst existing steelwork and pipes may have governed the layout of the space, every effort was made to create a space that sat sympathetically within this grade II building. Details even involved making timber miniature replicas of steel columns to support the vanity shelf.

“This is definitely a project to see the before and after photos, the space has been totally transformed. The attention to detail on this project is a credit to Amspec’s Project Team.” Jessica Murison - Amspec Design Manager
