About your role: As the Health, Safety and Compliance Co-Ordinator no day is ever the same, which is actually one of the things I love about the role. I pride myself on creating a safe working environment for all, engaging with staff at all levels and maintaining high standards.

Health and Safety isn’t everyone’s “cup of tea” as a job role, but for me it is my passion and I am certain it is where I am meant to be. I enjoy helping others, learning new things and working with staff to keep health and safety at the forefront of their minds in everything we do. Its not always straight forward and definitely not for the faint hearted…..but I do love a challenge.

Before Amspec I worked for a utilities company for circa 10yrs, I learned a lot during my time there but a change of industry was one of the best things I did, I never thought working in construction would be for me (I had never really considered if before) but when the opportunity to start at Amspec arose, I knew I had made the right decision to move and have never looked back since.

Favourite past time: I enjoy spending time with my family, swimming and photography (albeit very amateur). And of course I couldn’t leave out my 5yr old Springerdor (Labrador x springer spaniel) doggy, Penny…. & yes before you ask she is bonkers!!

Favourite Amspec Project: I am genuinely amazed at some of the projects we complete, seeing photographs/videos of the incredible installations and workmanship that we carry out always impresses me. One of my favourite projects was the Bonded Warehouse - seeing it transformed from the old Granada TV studios that I’d once visited with my late Grandma, to seeing it transformed into some amazing new spaces. This was one of the first projects I was involved in when I started with Amspec, I learned a lot from this project from more detailed and complex risk assessments and method statements to carrying out one of my first on site health and safety inspections.
