From Concept to Completion: Cotton House Reception

Recently, we were asked on behalf of Bruntwood to refurbish the reception at Cotton House, Old Hall Street, Liverpool.

The brief was to compliment, but not replicate, the design of the Cotton Exchange Reception located in the same building. The scheme was designed by Bruntwood’s inhouse design team and Amspec were selected to complete the fit out.

Amspec were asked to manufacture a bespoke ‘host station’ to act as a focal point in reception. The station is made from a steel frame and laminated MFC. The desk features lockable storage and a mesh-grid front to display foliage. The unit sits on castors, as requested by the client, to allow it to be portable. We also inserted a DDA-compliant shelf in order to make it wheelchair-friendly.

We manufactured bespoke banquet seating with a steel frame and leather strap detailing. The cushions were upholstered in a modern vinyl from Panaz. Powder coated steel mesh frames were hung on the wall to display additional foliage.

We installed feature lighting and painted the hallways with bold colours and shapes as per Bruntwood’s design specification.
