Block 30 – Pop Up Shop

Alderley Park is the UK’s largest bioscience campus. Based in Cheshire, it offers laboratory and state-of-the-art office space to rent. We have completed various projects at Alderley Park including the fit out of the Block 30 Breakout Areas.

We were asked on behalf of Bruntwood to design and build space for a ‘Pop Up Shop’

The idea behind this is that Bruntwood want to create a space where local retailers can display and sell their products to the users of Alderley Park. Not only does this allow small, independent enterprises a chance to boost their sales and access new opportunities, it also gives the users of Alderley Park an enhanced customer experience. The workplace is changing, with people increasingly looking for engaging workspaces in a stimulating environment so it’s great that Bruntwood provide a rounded package of value-added customer benefits which includes not only lounges, outdoor space, bike storage and fitness facilities but also a range of retail options.

Our team produced a concept using bespoke joinery products that are fully customisable to each and every retailer:

We manufactured display units, a cash desk and triangular display plinths on castors so the space can be configured however required.

We designed and manufactured bespoke peg boards and matching wooden letters, made from stained black plywood so that retailers can use to promote their brand or display promotional offers. The peg boards also hold customisable shelves so they can be arranged in whichever way that displays their items most suitably.

We built in a back-of-house storage and sink area with added storage so that retailers can not only make use of a private breakout area but can also store additional merchandise.
